CREATING WITH CONSCIENCE

Updated: Jun 10

How today's creators are using art to shape a more sustainable future

Sustainability and contemporary art have become increasingly intertwined, forming a powerful dialogue about the planet's future. At the forefront of this movement is Art Basel Miami, an annual global event that consistently amplifies ecological and social themes. Held during Miami Art Week, it’s a space where creativity meets climate consciousness—and where artists become advocates for change.

As Oleksii  Didihurov, Art Director of the Travel to Art Award, notes:

“Art can deliver powerful ecological messages into the cultural conversation. It resonates with the subconscious, allowing people to grasp deeper values and ideas—such as preserving nature, responding to environmental crises, and embracing social responsibility.”

From across the world, leading voices in the creative industries are now aligning their work with environmental and humanitarian values. The American magazine Travel to Art continues to highlight these voices, recognizing those who are using their creative platforms for global good.

The Travel to Art Award, held annually in Miami Beach as part of Art Basel, honors creators who are redefining art through the lens of sustainability and social impact. In this edition, we spotlight some of the standout talents from the 2023/2024 awards season.
